The Empowered Women Retreat is a community-building, therapist-led retreat for women healing from relationship betrayal. Whether you are staying, leaving, separated, divorced, or single, you will find a safe place to be seen, understood, and supported. Through education, group processes, intentional experiential and body-based healing practices, nervous system regulation, and meaningful connection, we help women begin moving from survival toward healing, reclaiming their voice, their strength, and themselves.

Next Retreat

Our next retreats are October 1-4 for a Level 1 Retreat and November 5-8 for a Level 2 Retreat. (Level 2 Retreats are for alumni of previous retreats only.)

  • Private Room with Private Bath $4000; Private Rooms with Shared Bath $3700; Bunkroom with Shared Bath $3000
  • Required: $200 Deposit to Reserve a Spot 
  • Primary facilitators are Tamara Cooper and Emma Henkel
  • Retreat alumni may choose to participate in a six-month series of 75-minute weekly facilitated virtual support groups ($1250 for six months). This option is available only to alumni of the retreat.

Arrival: Thursday by 6 p.m.

• Thursday evening — Arrival, settling in, and a welcome to the group.
• Friday and Saturday — Full days of programming, roughly 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with breaks
throughout
• Sunday — Packing, clean-up, and goodbyes. Check-out is at 10 a.m.
What airport do I fly into, and what time should I arrive?
Fly into Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF). Please plan to arrive at the retreat
location by 6 PM on Thursday evening. The venue is about 10 minutes from the airport. After
booking, send your flight information or ETA to emma@seekingintegrity.com, and we can
connect you with other women arriving around the same time if you;d like to ride share.
What time should I plan to fly out on Sunday?
The retreat programming wraps up Saturday night. Sunday morning is for packing, tidying up,
and saying goodbyes, with check-out at 10 a.m. We recommend booking a Sunday departure no
earlier than 12 p.m. (noon) to allow time for check-out and the short drive back to SDF.
Where do I go if I'm driving?
Both on-site and street parking are available at the venue (1236 S. Shelby St., Louisville, KY 40203).
What are the sleeping arrangements?
Bedding is provided, and you’ll have your own room, unless you opt for the bunk-room.
What do I need to pack?
Consider the following:

  • Comfortable clothes for all retreat activities.
  • Makeup or no makeup—whatever you prefer.
  • No need to dress to impress; we’ll be in lounge or athletic wear most of the time.
  • Layers — rooms and common spaces can run cool.
  • Comfortable shoes for optional walks and gentle movement.
  • Your favorite pillow and blanket (bedding is provided; this is for extra comfort and
    breathwork).
  • Journal and pen, plus a highlighter if you like.
  • Personal toiletries. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided.
  • Any books, music, or quiet activities to help you relax before bedtime.
  • All necessary medications.
  • A reusable water bottle.
  • An eye mask and/or white noise machine if they help you sleep.
  • Any specialty snack or drink you need (snacks and all meals are provided).
  • A willingness to participate!
What should I NOT bring?
Do not bring

  • Alcohol or any illicit substances
  • Laptops
  • Weapons of any kind
How are meals handled, and what if I have special dietary needs?
All meals and snacks are catered by local businesses. To make sure we can accommodate you, please send any allergies, dietary restrictions, or strong preferences to emma@seekingintegrity.com at least one week prior to the retreat.
What is the phone, photo, and confidentiality policy?
To protect the privacy of everyone present, please do not photograph or record other participants, and keep anything shared during the retreat confidential. We ask that phones be set aside during group sessions so everyone can stay present; you’ll have free time in the evenings to check in with home.
Can my family reach me in an emergency, and is there WiFi?
Yes, and yes.
What can I expect during the retreat?
During your stay, you can expect the following:

  • Group exercises focused on betrayal trauma recovery, attachment, psychoeducation, emotional regulation, grief and loss, Q&A, and rebuilding self-trust, along with experiential interventions such as sociometrics, breathwork, and therapeutic release work.
  • Daily programming beginning around 9 AM, with lunch around 12 PM and the day ending
    around 9 PM. Breaks are built in throughout, and gentle movement (yoga, walks, and the
    like) is optional during breaks.
  • Meals and snacks catered by local businesses.
  • Free time in the evenings for both personal reflection and socializing.
  • Support from our trained professional staff throughout the entire experience.’
  • A judgment-free, compassionate environment.
