Our Treatment Program
Seeking Integrity’s programming is deeply sourced in over 45 years of shared clinical and research-based experience by our leading treatment experts, Dr. Rob Weiss and Dr. David Fawcett. Their expertise in writing about and treating sex addiction, sexual health, intimacy disorders, chemical dependence, and partner trauma-betrayal are rarely offered in one setting.
Seeking Integrity offers a two-phased approach to stopping compulsive sexual behavior and paired drug and sex problems while evolving a life plan for continuing recovery and healthy aftercare.
Phase One offers a 14-Day Intensive Immersion, designed specifically to immediately arrest addictive behaviors while exploring the underlying emotional pain that drives problematic dependency disorders like sex and porn addiction, serial infidelity, drug abuse, multiple relapses, etc. There is a lot of assessment going on in phase one as we believe that long-term healing requires clients to understand the emotional pressures that have been driving their dysfunction. Helping clients understand the why’s and how’s of their problems is a phase one priority.
Phase Two is a second 14-Day Intensive Immersion in the Seeking Integrity addiction treatment program. For individuals with paired drug addiction with sexual health challenges, more time is often needed to heal from the effects of substance abuse on the body and brain. While the physical aspects of detoxification are short-lived, the psychological effects often take more time. For this reason, it would be common for someone to need an additional 14 days of addiction treatment programming to fully address the relapse cycle and recovery strategies. Men who struggle with chronic sexual addiction, as well as men who struggle to get sober from combined sex/drug problems, often have underlying trauma, adverse childhood experiences (ACES), neglect, violence, complicated bereavement, posttraumatic stress disorder, and other developmental or psychological disorders and stressors in their past. These issues require attention to help disrupt the relapse cycle and to anchor healthy recovery behaviors and reduced impulsivity in the present. Working with such personal and individual problems often involves specialized evaluations, therapies, and services, involving more dedicated addiction treatment programming beyond the initial Phase One 14-Day Intensive Immersion
